Bicycles play a vital role in the everyday lives of Danes, who use their bikes for all sorts of things.
The bicycle is a cheap, flexible and eco-friendly mode of transport, but before you go biking in the busy Danish capital there are some basic traffic rules you should know.
The City of Copenhagen has listed some of them for your information, so you (and others) can stay safe when you venture out into the cycle traffic and you can avoid expensive fines.
